The initiative “ACT FOR EARTH” is continued with the second beach cleanup at Agios Konstantinos bay

The second cleanup of Agios Konstantinos beach in Oropos was successfully completed on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, as part of CNN Greece’s "ACT FOR EARTH" initiative, in collaboration with the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation.

This action is part of the adoption of Agios Konstantinos beach and falls into a series of scheduled cleanups, aimed at highlighting the importance of coastal protection and sustainable waste management.

During the initiative, volunteers from DPG and staff from the Athanasios C. Laskaridis Foundation worked together to remove litter from the beach. In total, 705 pieces of waste were collected, weighing 48 kilograms. The collected items included various small plastic fragments, personal hygiene products, food packaging, cigarette butts, pieces of paper and other types of garbage.

Part of the collected garbage will be upcycled by artist Emmanouela Daskalakis, who will create a unique artwork which will emphasise the importance of reuse. The piece will be presented during the Act For Earth Summit 2025.

The initiative will be continued with future cleanups scheduled for April and May 2025, promoting a more responsible attitude towards the environment.
